Setting up a Domain Name that does not use WWW (Naked URL NEW (Ploud6)

If you have not set up your custom domain name that includes the WWW you should follow these instructions. The instructions below are in addition to setting up a WWW domain CNAME record.

How do people find my site? Setting up your custom domain name on Ploud 


When a user enters in their browser your website URL many times they will enter the URL and not include the WWW such as www.mystite.com instead will enter mysite.com. This is called a naked URL a URL that does include the WWW. 


To set up a naked URL you need to add an 'A' record at your domain name provider. 


Use these settings in your 'A record

  • Host: The hostname the A record links to. Type @ to point directly to your domain name.
  • Points to: The IP address you are setting as the destination for the host.
    The IP to use is 165.227.252.166

TTL: How long the server should cache information. The default setting is 1 hour
