Standard Image Dimensions

Listed below are the standard Ploud image sizes for inserting imagery into pages and portlets using the WYSIWYG editor. Ploud is a responsive site meaning it will do its best to adjust image sizes to the area it is inserted into such as a Portlet column. This allows for consistently displaying images over different devices such as a mobile phones, tablets and desktops. The WYSIWYG editor allows you to select an image type with a predefined dimension (listed below).

How the image is embedded in the page content is based on what image size you choose. The WYSIWYG editor will use the size you choose against the largest side of the image you are uploading and scale the image to the size appropriately.

Example:

A portrait image that is being uploaded is 300pixels wide and 400 pixels high and the user assigns the image the thumbnail size (128px). The height of that image will be 128px and the width will be 96px. Conversely if a landscape image was uploaded, the width of that image would be 128px (the selected size) and the height would be 96px.

Image types and their dimensions:

  • Original (whatever size the image was when it was uploaded)
  • Mini (200px)
  • Thumb (128px)
  • Listing (64px)
  • Preview (400px)
  • Tile (64px)
  • Icon (32px)
  • Large (768px)
