Adding RSS Portlets

Modified on Tue, 31 Mar 2015 at 03:57 PM

RSS portlets are primarily intended to display RSS feeds from external sites, though they can also display feeds from your own site.

  1. Navigate to the the page you wish to add the portlet and click Manage portlets in the area in which you want to add the portlet.

  2. On the same side you will see a number of gray boxes with the names of portlets that have already been created.

  3. Above the portlets, click Add portlet….

  4. Scroll down and select RSS Feed.

  5. Title will set the name given to the feed on your page. If left blank, the title of the feed itself will be used.

  6. Number of items to display will set the number of items that can appear in the list. These are chosen according to the sort order of the feed itself.

  7. Under URL of RSS Feed, link the RSS Feed to display.

  8. Feed reload timeout allows you to set the number of minutes after which the feed should be reloaded. Generally you should use the defaults unless there is a reason to check the feed more often.

  9. Once you have entered the required information, click Save.

  10. To exit the portlet configuration screen, click the “Return” link in the center panel of the page.
