NOTE: Michigan Libraries has created a tutorial in creating Ploud Events for your calendars.
Ploud offers the ability for content editors to create a Calendar view to display your site events. This calendar view gives your website visitors the ability to view your events in a Month, Week, or Day view to make it easier for them to visualize your events.
You can create this Calendar view anywhere on your website. Most libraries have created an Events or Calendar folder at the top level of their site and then put the visual calendar inside that folder.
- Navigate to the folder where you would like to place your calendar.
- In the Green Edit bar, select Add new... and then Calendar.
- Enter the Title of your Calendar and any Summary text you would like. These fields are for your reference and for search results display. They are not used on the actual Calendar that is displayed. Click Save when you have entered that information.
You should see your Calendar with any events on your website displayed in their proper days.
Make sure you publish your calendar so that your website visitors can see it:
The last thing you may want to do is make your Calendar the Default View of the calendar it resides in. This way, when someone navigates to the folder you created for your Events, they will immediately see the Calendar.
In the folder where you have the Calendar you created in the above steps, make sure you are on the View tab of the Green Editing bar.
From the Display Menu, choose Select a content item as default view...
In the dialog window that is presented, select the Radio Button next to the Calendar you created and click Save.
Your calendar should now be the default view of the folder it resides in.
