Adding News Portlets

A News Portlet displays a list of links to News Items added to the site.

  1. Make sure you are logged into your site.

  2. Navigate to the the page you wish to add the portlet and click Manage portlets in the area where you want to add the portlet.

  3. On the same side you will see a number of gray boxes with the names of portlets that have already been created.

  4. Above the portlets, click Add portlet….

  5. Scroll down and select News.

  6. Enter the Number of items to display in the portlet at any given time. News Items will be selected by date. The order in which items are sorted is determined by the settings of the News folder from which they are taken.
  7. Workflow state allows you to select one or more statuses under which a News item can be saved and still appear in the News portlet. The default is Published. Multiple selections can be made by holding down the Ctrl button while clicking.
  8. Click Save.

  9. To exit the portlet management screen, click the “Return” link in the center panel of the screen.
